eConsult

With patient's needs at the heart of everything we do, our website has been designed to make it easy for you to gain instant access to the information you need.  As well as specific practice details such as opening hours and how to register, you'll find a wealth of useful pages covering a wide range of health issues along with links to other relevant medical organisation.

A heartfelt plea to all our patients

Please do not shout or swear at any of our team. We are unfortunately seeing more behaviour that is unacceptable, and this will ultimately drive team members away and only make the service harder for us to deliver.

All our team members are doing their very best in difficult circumstances. To the majority of our patients who continue to be understanding and supportive, we thank you for your kindness, and appreciate your tolerance.

Demand for appointments has become greater than capacity, and whichever way we try to manage our appointments, there is simply not enough to be able to see everyone when they want it. We can assure you that we have recruited more staff, including GPs, but an explosion in demand has made appointment availability scarcer than we would want.

We understand your frustrations at not being about to get through on the phone, at having to wait longer for an appointment, or not being seen on the day that you want.  We are working on solutions to address these problems.

We also understand the desire to be seen in person, and we will facilitate this where possible and appropriate.  Not everyone wants or needs to come into the practice.  Our ‘on the day’ appointments will be on the phone initially, and if the clinician feels that the consultation needs to be in person, then they will offer an appointment and invite you to attend face to face.

It is frustrating, which we understand, but if you feel you need to talk to a clinician ‘on the day’ please call us at 8am that day or alternatively complete an eConsult which is on our website. We have GPs, a prescribing Minor Illness Nurse, and Paramedics working on our ‘on the day’ appointments – which is why the reception team will ask you for the reason for your appointment so that they can book you in with the right clinician for that day.

There are other services that are outside of the practice that are also sometimes better placed to manage your condition, for example the Community Pharmacy Service – and this is why the team will direct you to other services once they know why you are asking for an appointment that day.

Again, we thank you for your support and understanding.

Kind regards,

The Partners of Bradley Stoke Surgery

Access System

Due to national guidance relaxing Covid-19 measures the Practice has reviewed and revised its Access (appointment) system and in particular how patients gain entry to the building.  The Access system continues to be based on patients telephoning the Practice and giving information about their medical issue to the Patient Co-ordinator. The Patient Co-ordinator will ‘signpost’ patients to an appropriate clinician, either a GP or Urgent Care Clinician, by putting their details on the clinician’s appointment list. The clinician will then telephone the patient to discuss their medical issue on the same-day that the patient called the Practice.  If the clinician needs to see the patient face-to-face then an appointment will be made for the patient to come to the Practice.  Nurse appointments are generally face-to-face consultations particularly for chronic conditions.   Patients can use the Waiting Room to wait for their appointment.  Please use the self-check-in screen when you arrive in the Practice.  The clinician will meet the patient in the Waiting Room; they will escort patients back to the Waiting Room on completion of the appointment.

Named Accountable GP for all Patients

All patients have a named GP who is responsible for patients' overall care at the practice.  If you wish to know who this is, please contact the practice.  The named accountable GP will take lead responsibility for the coordination of all services required under the contract and ensure they are delivered for their patients where required (based on the clinical judgment of the named accountable GP).  Although patients have a named accountable GP, they can see any GP in the practice.

Repeat prescriptions

Please click on repeat prescription  to order a repeat prescription online. (Please note due to patient confidentiality if you have lost or forgotten your password (even the prescription password) you will need to come to the surgery to reset your registration details for the online services.)  Please note the admin and prescription email accounts should not be used for urgent care requests.  Please use either the telephone system or alternatively the e-consult facility above for urgent care requests.
