Revised Access System

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic the Practice has had to develop its appointment system to ensure that patients’ medical needs can be addressed appropriately by utilising in the main telephone or video consultations. The Revised Access system is based on patients telephoning the Practice and giving information about their medical issue to the Patient Co-ordinator. The Patient Co-ordinator will ‘signpost’ patients to an appropriate clinician, either a GP or Urgent Care Clinician, by putting their details on the clinician’s appointment list. The clinician will then telephone the patient to discuss their medical issue on the same-day that the patient called the Practice. If the clinician needs to see the patient face-to-face then an appointment will be made for the patient to come to the Practice. On arrival patients are asked to wait outside or in their cars until called into the practice. The clinician will meet patients at the main or front door of the Practice and escort them into their consultation room. At the end of the consultation clinicians will escort patients to the front door.

Nurse appointments, particularly for those patients with chronic conditions, can be undertaken by telephone; appointments for these can be made by calling the Practice and booking an appointment. General Nurse appointments face-to-face can be made in advance so please book as soon as possible.  For those with a face-to-face appointment and on arrival at the Practice, patients are asked to wait outside or in their cars until called into the practice by the clinician. The clinician will meet patients at the main or front door of the Practice and escort them into their consultation room. At the end of the consultation clinicians will escort patients to the front door.

If you are asked to come into the surgery for a face-to-face appointment, please remember to wear a face covering.
